2018年09月30日,四方样车CR300AF-0001样车下线。

2018年10月17日,样车CR300AF-0001前往铁科院环铁进行测试。

2018年12月08日,由四方庞巴迪生产的样车CR300AF-0003下线,此时颜色已经变为蓝色。

2018年12月13日,CR300AF-0001开始在成贵客运专线乐山至兴文段进行测试运行,并与CR300BF-0002进行重联测试。

2018年12月19日,四方庞巴迪样车CR300AF-0003前往铁科院环铁进行测试。

2019年07月06日,CR300AF-0001与CR300BF-0002结束了长达8个月的实验回到铁科院。

2019年07月30日,浦镇样车CR300AF-0004前往铁科院环铁进行测试,与CR300BF-0005进行重联测试。


CR300AF-0001采用中车时代IGBT-VVVF,CR300AF-0003使用纵横机电IGBT-VVVF、CR300AF-0004使用永济电机IGBT-VVVF。

CR300AF-0001、0003于2020年底随首批量产车型交付中国铁路广州局集团有限公司。

CR300AF-0004于2021年05月23日正式出厂交付中国铁路南宁局集团有限公司。

量产车的头型在细节上与样车有一定的区别,三组样车也分别回厂进行了改造。

样车的涂装已改为与量产车相同。
