2018年09月30日，长客样车CR300BF-0002样车下线。

2018年10月17日，CR300BF-0002前往铁科院环铁进行测试。

2018年12月19日，唐车样车CR300BF-0006前往铁科院环铁进行测试，此时颜色已经变为蓝色。

2018年12月13日，CR300BF-0002开始在成贵客运专线乐山至兴文段进行测试运行，并与CR300AF-0001进行重联测试。

2019年07月06日，CR300AF-0001与CR300BF-0002结束了长达8个月的实验，回到铁科院。

2019年07月30日，长客第二组样车CR300BF-0005前往铁科院环铁进行测试。

与其他CR300BF不同的是，CR300BF-0005使用永济电机IGBT-VVVF，其余CR300BF使用纵横机电IGBT-VVVF。

目前样车涂装已经改为和量产车相同。
