CR200J3-A EMU Train was born in December 2018, belongs to the CR200J(1.0) series, 1M8T in marshalling, the hole length is 234.5 m, has a maximum design speed of 160 km/h,

CR200J3-A采用FXD3-J动力车,使用中车永济电机YJ-277B/277C电动机及YGZN2Q-271型IGBT-VVVF,唐山厂拖车采用SW-220K型转向架,支持与CR200J1-A或CR200J2-A重联运行。

先后于2018年11月30日、2019年06月06日两次进行招标,分别招标10(含样车2组)、92组(含样车2组),其中CR200J3共48组,含1组样车。

首批招标的10组2019年01月05日起,率先投入兰渝线(兰州/兰州西-重庆北)、中川线(兰州/兰州西-中川机场)等线路运营。

第二批92组于2019年下半年在西安至周边城际线路、成都及重庆周边城际线路、兰新线(乌鲁木齐-博尔塔拉/霍尔果斯/克拉玛依)、南疆线(乌鲁木齐-库尔勒)等线路运营,并在兰渝等线路增加班次。

2021年10月22日,吉林铁道职业技术学院购买的由中车唐山机车车辆有限公司生产的控制车及二等座车交付(编号4001)。

CR200J第一代存在一系列的问题。采用和普速列车类似的车厢风挡结构,在过弯时会摩擦发出声音且气密性不足。较窄的车厢宽度导致坐席和过道宽度不足,影响乘坐体验。
