CRH380A系列动车组，是由青岛四方机车车辆有限公司在CRH2C型动车组的基础上，通过自主创新研制出的中国第二代CRH动车组，外观由英国PriestmanGoode主持设计。2010年09月30日CRH380A首次载客运营。2010年12月03日CRH380AL创造了486.1 km/h的最高运行时速。2011年06月30日，CRH380AL正式投入运营。CRH380A系列2010年开始至2017年停产，除模型车外累计生产448组，其中CRH380A 40组，CRH380A统型279组，CRH380AJ 5组，CRH380AL 113组，CRH380AN 1组，CRH380AM 1组，港铁CRH380A 9组，折合561标准组。
