2019年11月14日，中车长客获得CR300BF型动车组制造许可证。

2019年12月17日，中车唐山获得CR300BF型动车组制造许可证。

2020年06月28日，国铁集团首批137组CR300系列动车组开始招标，共137组。

2019年09月17日，公布中标结果，CR300BF共69组，其中长客44组，唐山25组，其中包含样车。

2020年12月起，CR300BF陆续在全国投入运营，分别交付中国铁路上海、西安、兰州、郑州等。
