CRH380A (for MTR) EMU Train was born in November 2013, belongs to the CRH380A series, 6M2T in marshalling, the hole length is 203 m, has a maximum design speed of 350 km/h, and 385 km/h in the experiment

CRH380A港铁版本总体性能与参数与内地版统型CRH380A基本相同,亦可以与统型CRH380A重联运行。在碰撞、防火、电磁兼容等性能上做进一步提升,优化了转向架设计并改善车厢内部结构,采用各种更先进的新型噪音吸收和阻隔技术材料,在时速350公里/小时的情况下车厢内噪声保持67至69分贝,更加人性化旅客界面,使旅客乘坐更加舒适。列车共提供579个座位,设一等席和二等席,由于只运行广深港高铁段,运行里程短,因此不提供餐车和商务席。车厢内提供Wi-Fi和电源插座。

2012年04月16日,中国南车集团正式与港铁签约落实为广深港高速铁路购置9列以南车四方CRH380A新一代高速列车技术平台为基础的电力动车组,每列8节编组。

2013年11月07日,首列列车在青岛完成生产和下线。2014年03月,首列列车抵达中国铁道科学研究院北京环行铁道试验基地开始进行型式试验。

2014年07月21日,首列列车抵达南昌铁路局南昌车辆段南昌西动车所。

2014年07月25日,首列列车开始在杭长客运专线南昌西至长沙南段进行运行试验。

2016年09月26日,首列列车交付港铁。

2017年02月15日,首列列车入驻MTR石岗车厂。

2017年10月07日,全部9列列车全部交付。

2018年09月23日,广深港高铁香港段开通,该车正式投入运营。

Existing problems and deficiencies

CRH380A系列继承了CRH2系列诸多特征,同时很多缺点仍然存在,因CRH380A系列动力车多,且依然使用的是极其落后的ARCNET网络标准,监测列车运行状态的传感器数量不足,需要人工查找问题,检修十分困难,导致CRH380A系列早期修程较短,无法胜任较长交路运营,维护成本极高,是CRH380中成本最高的系列,后期更换部分配件后修程逐渐增长,部分运行条件较好的交路一级修里程已由早期的4000+400km/24h延长至6000+600km/48h,部分交路仍执行4000km/24h。另外,该车车内通风设施设计不合理,车内通风口没有排水挡,车内尤其是卫生间内的污水有进入通风系统的概率,一旦进入就会发酵变质产生异味,且整个结构不利于清洁。

CRH2系列列车网络落后,不仅列车检修维护困难,而且包括后续的CRH380A、CRH2-NG以及早期的CRH6A,需要使用(日本进口的寿命约为5年的内置不可充电且无法更换电池的)有源NFC卡片写入包括列车车次数据、广播信息以及显示屏内容的列车运行数据,卡片寿命到期后需要更换,且部分列车因年代久远,相关车载装置也存在问题,导致列车无法更换车次信息,部分列车只能长期固定交路,限制了列车运行范围。另外该系统与列车网络深度绑定,通信协议落后,且使用非标准光纤传输,更换系统较为困难,暂无法升级更新。
