相较CR200J1-B,CR200J1-C对坐席布局进行优化,座椅间距加大,全部座椅改为可旋转,增设有6个与CR400AF-Z款式相同的商务座,全车定员优化减少至676人,餐车采用与CR400系列类似的设计,同时加设空调压力保护装置,优化车窗设计,提升隧道运行和会车时的舒适度,采用全新涂装,相对原涂装更加清爽。

采用更先进的列车网络,动力车采用以太网控车技术,动力车的控制网络采用以太网和MVB网双网冗余控制,实现了双网热备,和既有型号一样可以实现不同制造商、不同型号的动力车、拖车、控制车互联互通互控动拖车。列车拥有智能化诊断技术,动力车有完整的故障诊断智能化系统,对全列关键系统及部件进行状态监测,在车载状态显示界面进行显示并同步回传至地面,指导和协助列车操作与故障诊断与处置。部分列车采用微机控制制动,将制动信号通过列车网络进行传递,并可自动计算每节车厢所需的制动力,能够实现更优的制动效果。
